Course Description
This workshop is for people who want to improve their time management skills and practice using the fundamentals of Outlook to become more productive and better organized.
Participants will gain insights into time management by learning how to set SMART goals and priorities that stick. Make Outlook work your way while getting a handle on your workload and deal with emails more efficiently.
Part of ctc TrainCanada’s applied learning approach is to include lots of practice time in this workshop, to make it easier to form new habits.  You will return to the office feeling confident that you are better organized and more effective.

Prerequisites
Students participating in this course should be familiar with Microsoft Outlook.

Course Objectives
Participants in this program will learn:

  • Understand your organizational style -what works and what needs to be improved
  • How to apply the fundamentals of time management using Outlook to become more productive
  • How to use Outlook tools to become more proficient to save time

    Get to know other participants and discuss what will take place during the workshop. Participants will also have an opportunity to identify their personal learning objectives.
  • Setting Goals
    Use Outlook tasks to set and manage goals.
  • Prioritize effectively
    Use Outlook’s Priority setting tools.
  • Form Good Habits
    Let Outlook help you control repetitive tasks.
  • Identify time over which you have control
    Track how much time you spend on specific activities.
  • Identify and use your energy cycle
    Use Outlook’s scheduling system to plan activities.
  • Dealing with Procrastination
    Learn to use reminders and flags effectively.
  • Manage your workload
    Customizing your Outlook views.
  • Divide large tasks
    Manage tasks effectively.
  • Delegate effectively
    Use Outlook to delegate and track tasks.
  • Manage meetings
    Master Outlook’s calendar and scheduling functions.
  • Workshop Wrap-Up
    At the end of the day, participants will have an opportunity to ask final questions and create an action plan.
