More recently, organizations have appeared to become more interested in customized, personalized and targeted apps that can be used to achieve specific goals and objectives through the increased productivity evoked from use.
This has not been among the easiest parts of IT procurement either, as application development skills can be difficult to come by amid what has become a very serious talent gap across industries and regions around the globe. As such, when businesses want to create, manage or personalize their own apps in-house, they will either need to find new prospects that have applied or begin to give their current staff members increased opportunities to learn more about the relevant processes.
Following software trends and news can help decision makers better understand the specific types of skills and knowledge their employees need to possess to handle apps in such a way that yields a competitive advantage. Once informed by plenty of research, more efficient procurement of the necessary training modules and certification courses will likely be quick to follow, allowing the firms to more quickly and effectively embrace new movements in corporate IT.
New survey released
OutSystems, an enterprise application delivery platform provider, and TechValidate recently released the results of a joint survey that sought to discover some of the more challenging obstacles businesses are facing when embracing application development. The two entities also looked for trends in prioritization of certain types of projects that fall into this category, and found that so many organizations are beginning to have trouble wrapping their heads around the complexity of modern systems.
According to the report, 43 percent of the 200 respondents stated that mobility is the currently leading demand that needs to be reconciled for apps to run properly and processes to function optimally. What's more, mobile architectures for apps are also beginning to evolve, with mobile Web and hybrid environments dominating with more than two-thirds of the surveyed group, and just over a quarter remaining in native mobile setups.
In terms of what these companies were looking to achieve, process automation, reporting, collaboration and client relationship management appeared to be the most popular. What's more, it is now a bit clearer that companies must ensure they are providing cloud computing courses to app developers since nearly 80 percent of organizations integrated as many as five apps based in these forms of IT.
"The survey results echo the challenges we hear from customers: they are increasingly focused on delivering mobile applications, they aren't getting what they need from off-the-shelf from packaged applications, and they desperately need the ability to integrate quickly and seamlessly with a wide variety of technologies," Paulo Rosado, OutSystem CEO, affirmed. "This confluence of challenges within enterprise application development is leading organizations to seek alternatives to dramatically simplify the delivery of applications, regardless of the underlying technology requirements."

Companies that do not begin to develop and onboard the right types of software talent will likely struggle to achieve and sustain a competitive advantage, as so many core business requirements are taking place in apps today and many more will be as time goes on. With the right combination of courses, learning programs and performance improving training exercises, firms will indeed be able to handle software in such a way that improves the bottom line immediately and over time.
