Microsoft Lync offers adaptable solutions for small businesses

With the right Microsoft certification courses on their resume, IT professionals can employ solid unified communication solutions for small businesses. What makes Lync such a viable service for small firms is that there are various Lync configuration options available for enterprises on limited budgets. 

No Jitter recently highlighted how cloud-based technologies can allow small firms to establish Lync in an easily manageable infrastructure. This is beneficial for any company that may not want to spend significant amounts on servers. In fact, the source noted that a number of UC service providers are starting to offer packages designed for small business clients. Many of these service vendors harness hosted cloud technologies to help small companies move resources to external managers.

In general, No Jitter noted that the appliance programs designed for Lync can be effective tools for small business IT professionals who need to need to streamline management of the platform. This is possible because these features and programs allow IT workers to place the complex software components associated with Lync onto a single server. Doing so will reduce the in-house hardware needed to host a Lync setup. 

Although there are a number of viable Lync appliance services on the market, the source stated that each program offers something different. For small business leaders, the key in making the right Lync appliance choice is understanding how each service integrates with the software to simplify management requirements.

UC training is key
However, if executives are not trained on Lync usage and configuration, it will be difficult for them to make the right decision. Because these individuals are usually non-tech professionals, investing in such educational courses may not be viable. Instead, small business leaders would be better served providing in-house IT workers with access to Microsoft training for Lync. Even with out-sourced cloud systems, internal architecture needs to operate efficiently at all times, meaning it's a necessity for even the smallest firms to have a talented IT professional on the payroll. 

Some small businesses may not be ready to invest in UC technology, but data suggests they may see several benefits by adopting integrated communications interfaces. Forrester research commissioned by Cisco recently found that small business manufacturers believe streamlined UC implementations can make them more flexible. In fact, the source noted that 70 percent of respondents believe unified internal communications would help them improve sales and deliver projects faster.
